Mission Statement

IDA Houston is a forum for physicians of Indian origin of the greater Houston to collectively strive for excellence in academic and patient care and provide charitable support to those who need as well as promote health education to members of the public.

About IDC Charity Clinic:

The Indian Doctors Charity Clinic was established in March 1999 and has successfully completed 11 years of service to Houstonians of all ethnic groups once a week, Saturday, from 9 A.M to 12 noon.South Asians, Hispanics, Caucasians and Afro-Americans are given this service if they have no insurance and are indigent.

  • IDC Charity Clinic Stats: 2008– 700 at the clinic on Saturdays + approx. 800 at various events/health fairs
  • 2009 – 900 at the clinic on Saturdays + approx. 1000 at various events/health fairs

The clinic is run by volunteer doctors and nurses from the Indian community in Houston. Anybody interested in volunteering on a Saturday for three hours shift may contact Dr.K.T.Shah (281)-772-4139 or
